My Life at Utar Sungai Long

In a blink of an eye, it's already my last trimester for Year 2 as an Accounting student in Utar. Please get yourself updated if you still think that I am studying in Kampar, *some of my friends still thought that I'm studying in Kampar :/*. The chapter of my life there already ended 2years ago. Here's my My 1 Year Life in Kampar.
Disclaimer : Utar doesn't pay me to write this post. This is purely for my own record and memories, and since quite a number of people e-mailed me to ask for information after I posted my life in Kampar. hehe

As mentioned, I am currently pursuing Bachelor of Accounting(4years degree) in UTAR Sungai Long. There is Commerce Accounting(3 years) in Kampar. Friends or family be like "Why don't you take the course in Kampar since its a year shorter and nearer to Penang while Sungai Long is further and the course is longer?". The one is Sg Long is so much harder, only for that MIA recognition. Every trimester is getting harder, very tiring. Imma already half dead. :X

Fyi, UTAR has 4 campuses in total which has different faculty at different campus. Main campus is in Kampar, Perak. Another three including the one I am studying right now - Sungai Long, Petaling Jaya and Setapak, which both of the campus will be moving to Sungai Long in this coming May2015 semester. Dont get confused.

I know most people has no clue where is Sungai Long, or never even heard about this place. So, Sungai Long is actually in Selangor, not KL. Many people mistaken that Sungai Long is in KL because it is near to KL. It's actually a small place in between Cheras and Kajang. Just around 25min distance to KL(Pudu, Times Square, Pavillion area) by car without jam.

preparation for RunningMan 2015 event.
UTAR Sg Long is very very different as compared to UTAR Kampar. Unlike Utar Kampar that has numbers of blocks, UTAR Sg Long is only a 9-floors building. A new building is constructed right behind the current building tho as PJ and Setapak campus are moving here.

A photo posted by Camy Lau πŸ‘€ (@camylau) on
I have culture shocked when I first came here. Everything is so different here. It's only a 9-floors building with limited classrooms, a few small lecture halls*even the biggest lecture hall is way smaller compared to those in Kampar*, a small bookstore and Public Bank ATM, a small cafeteria, a 2-floors library, computer labs, some labs for MBBS Faculty. However, it definitely benefit those lazy people like me as we need not walk much, lifts will bring me to every floor I want :D. Anyway, I really hope that they will provide more facilities in the new building, like gym. hehehe

As for accommodation, most of the students here stay at the condominiums nearby. Flora Green, Scotpine, Cypress and Forest Green Condo are within walking distance. Many students even consider the Terrace house around or those condominiums slightly further nowadays cause there are limited rooms available since PJ and Setapak campus are moving here and the rental for the condo nearby increased like nobody business.

my jogging track :P

For me, I have been staying in Flora Green Condo, everything seems pretty good for me here except for the brainless owner I faced when I first moved out. The security here is quite strict, we need access card to enter and leave, visitors(students) are required to register at the guard house, which many students find it troublesome. There is a swimming pool and I can jog in the compound when I am free. It's near for me to get food at the shop lots out there. Most importantly, I need not wake up early to prepare for classes or I can just come home to take a nap when I have break time as it's only a few minutes walk to uni(right opposite). Best of all, we have Unifi here! *that's practically how I fell for Youtube :O*

Basically, my transport here - my leg, since it's only a few minutes walk to Uni. For those who plan to stay further, heard that Utar bus will be provided or some even considered cycling*personally thinks that it's quite dangerous here cause its unlike Kampar that has huge roads with little cars*. On the other hand, for those who plan to drive, the parking space around uni is very very limited.

Besides, I have personal drivers to bring me around - Rapid KL. U41 is all we have. Sg Long is the first station all the way to Pudu, and last station back to Sg Long. I kind of became indoorsy there cause I'm too lazy to hang out as it takes hours to reach home if I need to take public transport. For once my friends and I wanted to come back from KLCC at 9pm, and we ended up reaching Sg Long at 12am. However, it's convenience for us to reach MidValley as we can just take Rapid U41 to Serdang KTM then take KTM to MidValley station, that's it. Otherwise, take Rapid U41 to Serdang KTM, take the train to Bandar Tasik Selatan and change to LRT if wanna go somewhere else.

MRT please be done faster so that I can go Kai Kai easily :P.

Bus and Plane will bring me back Penang. If there are cheap flights, then I will take plane. Otherwise, i'll take bus back Penang. Its quite inconvenience to take bus especially during public holiday. The jam is crazy. There was once I took bus from Penang at 5.30pm and ended up reached Puduraya at 2am. Luckily I have a 烂ε₯½δΊΊfriend who stayed up to wait for me and fetch me back from Pudu. Besides, usually I need to leave Sg Long 2 hours before to catch the bus in Pudu, which ended up became a 7 hours journey. Plane will takes some times too as I need to reach airport earlier tho, but definitely not as much as Bus.

Food? Economy rice stalls are available here. There are a few chicken rice shops, coffee shops and hawker along the streets. Typical KL food like Pan Mee, ηŒͺ肉粉,璟子ι₯ are all available here. Sushi King, Uncle Jang, Padi House, Nando's, Primo, and many more are all available at Mahkota Cheras. There is a Pasar Malam behind the uni every Tuesday night and Pasar Pagi at the same spot everyday. Hungry at midnight, 24 hours Mamak will save you.

I usually prefer to have dinner at home *Yes, I have housemates that cook well* so we can save some money for good food once a while and have more healthy meal. I think my hair dropped a lot ever since I study at Kampar and have most of my meal outside.

Kampar has beautiful scenery. So does Sungai Long, provided its not hazy. The previous house I stayed can view Sunrise, and the current one face the sunset and part of the sunrise.

I am grateful to meet good companions wherever I go. them. They play an important role to colour my life in Sg Long. Not forgetting Xiao Fei, that pig :P. We don't usually call each other best friend but somehow I feel that we are more than friends, like a family, more like sisters to me. Knowing that we will be there for each other, helping one another even though we might get mad at each other sometimes xD.

Not forgetting my previous housemates that helped me when I first came to this strange place, bring me out for dinner and care for me. :D

I kindda miss the feeling in Kampar that I need not worry if I cycle out at midnight, there are still lots of students on the street. Sg Long is so quiet after 10pm except for Mamak.

Going intern so soon! Hopefully I can find a good company and learn in it without becoming half dead. Dare not picture my life during intern T_T.

Recap 2014

A photo posted by Camy Lau (@camylau) on

Oh Heyyy! Many weird things happened in 2013 and 2014, which explains why I wasn't having much blogging mood lately that made me drag this Recap post until today, the 9th day of 2015. Also I usually take days to prepare a blog post, from transferring photos to processing photos to choosing photos to watermarking photos then upload photos, arrange them and lastly write the post. *Photography freak like me spend most of the time on photos cause nice photos make Camy happy! So, I will usually make sure that I am satisfied with the post especially photos before I publish a post. Anyway, I have made a to-blog-list, hopefully they will be up soon. :P

I wouldn't say that 2014 was a great year for me. There were lots of ups and downs last year, quite neutral I guess? I have the sudden urge to do Recap for last year since the last day of 2014 cause although not many good things happened on me but at least I managed to change my perception or perspective of those negative things happened to good lessons for myself. I think I have grown up in terms of thinking after going through all kind of weird things happened.

*most photos are embed from my Instagram

#1 Learned to appreciate people around me more
This sounds very common but yes, I have learned to appreciate people around me more.

I wasn't close to my dad since small. My impression towards my dad when I was young was that he was a dad that bullies us a lot and like to make us cry. He is not a expressive person, I understand that his intention was to play with us but his hands are quite rough that the tickling turned out to be painful, so we cried and dislike him doing that. He did try his best to spend his time with us by bringing us out to the mall or garden every weekend but his placing in our heart won't be high as he work outstation all the while and we hardly see him often.

Glad that things changed since my dad came over to KL to work and stay with me. Staying with my dad is like staying with a kid. I have to bring him out during weekend, mostly for movies so that he wouldn't feel bored, be the driver, wash his clothes and dishes, accompany him for dinner and share food with him. So, I manage to spend more time with him and talk to him more. On the other hand, as a dad, he won't usually help me to settle my problems, instead, he will try his best to guide me on what to do when I have problems cause he wants me to learn to be independent and decisive. Grateful that he forced me to learn and always back me up when things come to a point that I can't settle. He will also bring me to have good food whenever I request.

On the other hand, as I moved to KL from Kampar, time spent with my mom get lesser. I couldn't go back Penang as often as I did in Kampar, cause its quite inconvenient for me to go Pudu, tho I still go back whenever I can.

Mommy seems older ever since she started her massaging life for others. We tried persuading her to work lesser and accept lesser customers but she still insist to work from day to night. She claimed that she feels happy helping others and communicating with others. But mommy, you gotta take care of yourself with enough rest also ma... Back to the topic, hugging her makes me feel so much better, secure after having nightmares or troubles. Although we usually ended up argue whenever we talk but I am really grateful that she still try to prepare lunch for me whenever I am back in Penang despite she busy with her work.

oh my dear baby sis is in National Service now. I think my relationship with my siblings are getting better nowadays. We can crap more, talk more deeper stuffs of what we feel and blah to each others more these days. Accompanied my brother to Gurney to make a new spectacles,  for movie and to buy Christmas presents. It was the first time that only we both hang out together for shopping and movie. Felt quite weird but it was a good bonding time (y).

I am also very grateful for those who spend their precious time or waste their time doing stupid things with me despite every of us are busy with our own stuffs now. I feel happy and blessed especially when friends take the initiative to date me.

Not forgetting few gathering during CNY, primary school's 90years Anniversary dinner, gathering at class teacher's house and BBQ party after the gathering at my house with primary schoolmates and teachers last year before everyone separates to further their studies. Definitely had a great time with them.

#2 Travelled to Lumut
travelled to Lumut with my family, brought Carmun along. Sadly my baby sis couldnt make it. I miss the Seafood and red wine noodles there now recalling the trip.. D:

It was my first time staying at Villa. It was really huge and comfy!

#3 Travelled to Kuching, Sarawak for the first time with my childhood friends.
Introducing my both childhood friends and the gf.
It was a great trip with them before both of them left to further their studies. One of them left to US and another one left to Unimas in September right after the trip in August.

*in one of my to-blog-list

A photo posted by Camy Lau (@camylau) on
I miss the clear blur sky and breathtaking view in Bako Nation Park, Kuching badly. In August, both Penang and KL were so hazy but the sky was really clear in Kuching, so healthy!

#4 Christmas at Krabi, Thailand, my first time to Thailand!
A photo posted by Camy Lau (@camylau) on

It was my first time to Thailand and it was also my first time spending Christmas oversea. I was afraid if I will regret to go along for this trip as I will be the only youngster there. Surprisingly, the trip was cool! I did not regret being a light bulb there!
A photo posted by Camy Lau (@camylau) on
Didnt expect that two of my dad's friend's wife also interested in photography! I have photography buddies in that trip! One of the aunty also taught me to snap panning effects for vehicles! So awesome! Stay tune for my post! :D

#5 Learned to manage a house on my own
the view from my house
As my dad bought a house in KL, and I am the only one in KL, so they kindda let me handle everything, from inside of the house to outside management stuffs. As example, things to settle with management for renovation, have to constantly go check out the progress of the renovation, to change name for electric bills, pay bills and management fees and stuffs, to find tenant, to prepare furniture, prepare contract, to collect rental and many more. My dad will check with me how's the things go on from time to time.

#6 Settle problems with my previous owner on my own
Yes, my previous owner gave me so much troubles after I moved out. She didn't want to pay me back my deposit as stated in the contract. My dad forced me to handle it on my on, of course he did guide me on what should I do. I was very annoyed during that period, to the extend that I scolded in Facebook. *Camy don't usually scold people, if she does, you know how frustrating, annoyed, angry she is.* Thank god end up I manage to get it back with help from my friends and family. Learned to be more firm, and confidence through this experience. Don't ever think of bullying students kay!  *oh, its in my to-blog-list too, cause I wanna record down my lesson learned.

#7 First time conducting an interview
Our assignment was to interview a Human Resource Manager for the subject Organizational Psychology. We did it at the very last minute as we didn't get any response from the company we phoned initially. I felt grateful that 2 Human Resource Manage from 2 different companies accepted our interview at the very last minute. Instead of only interviewing one as what our lecturer requested, we manage to interview 2 HR Manager. One is manager from Coldstorage, another one is from MMC Sdn Bhd
HR Manager from MMC Sdn Bhd.
He was so kind that spend his time with us, sharing his stories throughout his 13 years experience as a HR manager. From recruitment process, to job performance appraisal, and training and development for the company to improve the skills of the employees. I really learned a lot during the interview.

#8 First time working for furniture company during fairs
Colleagues from Mylanohaus
It was the first fair that I worked requires formal attire. It was my first time selling such luxury stuffs too! Selling luxury stuffs is completely a different experience for me. Although I didn't sell any furniture during my work, I was so guilty for it, but I have learned that selling luxury stuffs, you got to concern about the way you behave, the way to sales the products, the way you speak, the way you should be in confidence in yourself so customers will have confidence in you to buy your products and of course how confidence you are towards your products and many more are important. Glad that I was given the chance to work with them. :)

#9 First time watching sunrise at Penang Hill, twice a year.

Second time with Mel!

#10 First time watching Meteor Shower
Sorry If I scared you with this photo XP
USM had a meteor shower event and Xuan, Mel and I decided to go even though we are not USM students. The event starts from 8pm to 6.30am, so you can actually sleep at the stadium till the next morning. We brought our own mat and lie down on the grass, played some musics and stared at the sky full of stars. We were so excited when we spotted meteors! Everyone screams at the stadium whenever they spotted one. Not that we manage to catch up with all the others spotted cause it came at different spots, but don't be disappointed and give up, stay focus! I was so lucky that spotted 9 meteors that night. I was too excited that I forgot to make a wish whenever I spotted one. Oh well, I feel so lucky that I manage to watch meteors shower with both my babes dy and that's enough to make me happy. :)

#11 More opportunities for blog
I would like to express my gratitude to those that gave me the opportunities to food review, gave me chance for sponsored post or advertorials. I manage to attend more food reviews this year and it was my first time doing fashion post this year too! Hopefully there are more to come!

#12 Exercise more, personal record for PBIM
Its the fact that I exercise more, eat lesser compared to last time, but I still get fatter :(. Oh well, fats me, I swam two days once from the starting of the year to mid of the year. Then I started jogging. I actually found my way to control my breathing during jogging now and I am still proud of my personal record during PBIM 2014! I hope that it will continues to motivate me to jog in the future constantly to keep myself healthy!

#13 Got myself an iPhone 6!
I have been eyeing on Apple for 2 years since iPhone5. Get the permission to buy it that time but phone still in the okay condition. Dragged until 2014, finally my phone decided to be half-dead. So ta-dahhhhh! :D Please stay with me kay?

I kindda find my tempered getting bad lately, should think of a way or try my best to control them and improve my patient level.

I don't exactly like to make resolutions for a new year cause I am more of a spontaneous person that prefer things to go spontaneously without planning. This explains why I always complete my stuffs at the very last minute, sometimes I'll start a little by little to ensure myself won't ended up stuck with a lot of undone stuffs, but usually that's like only less than 20% of the whole project. Anyway, here's a very simple resolutions that easy for me to achieve before I end this post :
#1 Eat more
#2 Sleep more
#3 Play more
#4 Enjoy more
#5 Travel more
#6 Take more beautiful photos
#7 Earn more
#8 Exercise more
#9 Spend more time with friends and family more
#10 Love myself more
#11 Appreciate more

I realise that I don't blog very often anymore, but my blog post these days are long. If you actually spend your time to finish reading this, here's my flying kiss to you. *muacks.

Let It Out!

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom."

Sometimes I really wish to turn back to the time where I was surrounded with lots of good friends back in Penang. Those times where we spend most of our times playing, studying and doing stupid stuffs together in school and tuition classes. I feel so sad that most of them are leaving very soon to further their studies. Who else to bring me for good foods when I am back in Penang? :(

It's fun and interesting to meet many different people with different personalities from all around the world. I feel so blessed that I get to meet nice people that bring laughter, accompany me and even help me to go through tough moments.

However, at times I feel very tired too. I have been meeting some weird people lately in this scary, complicated and realistic city. Although I have that 'cincai' personality that I will try my best to compromise and tolerate with every of them, but bear in mind that I have a border line too.

There are people that tends to take others for granted and thinks that everyone should serves them and follows their ways. I don't easily get angry, you should know your limit when I showed you that I was pissed. I understand that everyone has their demanding side, but at the same time, you should respect others' too. You are the not the King nor the Queen, you have no right to command me. I would lend a hand more willingly if you treat me sincerely instead of commanding me. Besides, is not a must for everyone to help you. We will definitely try our best to get alternative ways to help you when you need. I am disappointed that in return, you reward us with your angry face.

I have also met a friend that is very arrogant. I know you are extremely proud of yourself. You sounds very professional when you talk and most adults like you after communicating with you cause you sounds very knowledgeable. Yes, I gotta admit you know all sort of working stuffs but hey, your social skill is sucks! In fact, I feel very disappointed in you. You never do what you promised. It's fine that you keep showing off about yourself but I hate that you look down on others. Oh, come on, no one is perfect, neither you are. So what of having all sort of knowledge when no one trust you?

Well, just rant over here to express my feelings, avoid myself from autism as I prefer hide my feelings. I'd prefer to rant in this platform than to tell it to others. People come and go. Don't worry although you may think that it's you, I won't hate anyone, cause it is tiring to hate a person and I am too lazy for it.
To everyone, thanks for being part of my life and giving me a life lesson. :D

"Dont regret knowing the people who came into your life, good people give you happiness, bad ones give you experience, the worst ones give you lessons, and the best people gives you memories."

A Whole New Year

#cotd 1 Outfit to an event at Paragon Mall.
Loving the effect of the sunlight shines from the windows behind me. Ain't I look chio? :P

Yo, pretties and handsome! How have you been?
My 3 weeks semester break just ended. Year 1 officially ended. I really enjoyed myself to the fullest back in Penang. As usual, I went out nearly everyday during the 3 weeks break :P. Although car broke down in the middle of my sem break, glad that I have awesome friends that pamper me and brought me out to satisfy my craving, to movies, to gym then swim and to round Penang Island just for fun *and waste petrol*. Not to forget my family that will bring me all the way to balik pulau just for laksa and try their best to bring me to get good food, my dear brother that willing to share car with me or drop me to where I wanna go, and my sister that allows me to annoy her then became my photographer. :D

I wanted to update my blog at least once a week, but sadly the Internet was down from the second week of my sem break. The whole area's house phone wasn't working too :(. I managed to survive through life without Internet for one week plus, watched all 5 Final Destination, finished 2 Chinese novels, 1 English book and spent an evening to prepare Spaghetti for my family. Quite productive isn't it? :D

#cotd 2

Semester breaks ended, I am now a Year 2 student. I was quite happy that I passed all my subjects for last semester, initially I thought I will fail 2 subjects. Oh well, I blame myself for slacking too much last semester. I was too playful. I played games, daydream, talk in class. I didn't do my tutorial question and did very last minute revision before final. So, I ended up kind of went blank during exam :/. It's my fault. Camy, please put more effort and concentrate in your following semesters!!!

stay tune! More posts updating soon. :D

My Belated Birthday Lunch @ TAO!

If you are my all-time-reader I think you probably got bored of reading this, but I must repeat I am really very grateful to have awesome friends around me!

Although I don't have a boyf, but I am really thankful that God has been treating me well by sending me lots of trustable, helpful, lovely friends. They are here with me not only to gossip or crap with me, but I know that most of them will definitely be there for me to cheer me up when I'm down, help me out when I need, teach me to be smarter when I face difficulty.

Sometimes you might think that I have many friends with different gang, which are actually the closest or who are the most trustable friend? To be frank, I do have many friends with different gang. Some of them include my family even claims that I am too busy hanging out with friends each time I am back in Penang cause I have too many different gangs. However, I don't rank them, they are all my close friends, I really do treasure each and every of them. Forever always try my best to make my time to meet them if I am free. I them all!

my high school buddy. Babi and Snow White.

Back in December, they insisted to surprise me even my birthday already over for more than 3 months. They had decided to bring me to Tao for lunch buffet. They know me too well, knowing that I yummy food, I am a big eater, never try Tao before and used to keep annoy my snow white to bring me there. They bought me a dress last year but I didn't wear it before till now *opps*. So, bring me to Tao for buffet is definitely a smart choice *thumbs up (y)*

Sadly, the smart me actually spoiled their surprise :/. They forced me to wear dress and told me that I will surely regret if I have a little mommy's cook before I go cause I was negotiating with them that I need to have a little mommy's cook before I go out for lunch or else my mom will kill me. Imma ended up success to guess that they gonna bring me to Tao for my birthday lunch.

#OOTD or #COTD
bear with it, the photo was taken after the lunch. oh Fat Fat Fat!

my Snow White

She knows me very very very well. She not only taught me a lot on academic but also general knowledge and life lessons like how to handle things when got into trouble. I really salute how her brain can twist so fast whenever she meets problems. Besides that, I learned to be more alert to my surrounding, got my "stare-back" skill and ability to observe around more*except that when I am blur lar* from her.

Still remember that back in high school, I used to tell her that "I am hungry" almost all the time in class. She ended up prepare extra bread or biscuit for me :D. She was so used to me saying "I am Hungry" till there was once, I didn't annoy her that I was hungry cause I was busy concentrating to complete my homework. She then turned to me and ask "Camy, are you okay today? It's already 9am, why you haven't tell that you are hungry?" *note that my mom used to prepare rice or porridge or oat for me in the morning, those food that I can really feel full, but I still hungry easily*

Babi!!! :D

First time see her in dress besides pinafore, specially for my birthday lunch and to make me wear dress too!!! Awwwwww . Only get close to her during Form 5. The forever kind person but always kind in a wrong way, tsk tskk. Miss the time that I can always kacao and annoy her in class. *Oh babi, i know you will read this, so dont wanna elaborate much about you, or else you syok sendiri :P*

hug hugg although I look like strangling her. :/

enough of those very ada feel time, it's time for photos of food! :D
Tao @ Penang Times Square!

we had too much that I forgot all their names.
They warned me not to order anything with Rice before I start ordering so I can eat more.
Never underestimate us! We had much more than what you see on the photo above!

Let me start showing off the foods! :P

Took our time to eat slowly and enjoy the food from 1pm to 4pm.
Sorry if I make you feel hungry :P.

Snow White drove us around!

Drop the Babi cause she has curfew.
Snow White and I then went to QueensBay Mall to burn a little calories by walking around aimlessly in the mall :/. Hui Lau Shan as dinner cause we were still full.
current prof pic. :P

That overexcited face... Oh My towards Mango!

Faster Let Me Eat!!!!!!

Mango Mango Mango Mango Mango and Mango :P
