Coya Healthy Cuisine 古雅料理
Coya Healthy Cuisine 古雅料理 is located at the end of Lorong Selamat (street opposite New World Park). They serves healthy vegetarian food. The chef invented her own recipe with the guidance of her master without adding MSG in the food. It's a great choice for those who opt for healthy or vegetarian food in Penang! Of having too much of fattening yummy food during my sem break back in Penang, sometimes, I will choose to look for cafe which offers healthy food instead.
"Fyi, vegetarians do not eat any animals. In addition to not consuming any animal flesh, a vegan (strict vegetarian) also doesn’t eat dairy products, eggs, or any other product derived from an animal. Vegans also avoid using products that have been tested on animals or made from animal skins."

Devil Eggs/ 魔鬼蛋 (Rm 4.90 for 3; Rm 7.90 for 6)
The name itself already portrays how scary the egg can be. The devil eggs are extremely spicy. It is a must-order dish for those who are looking for extremely spicy food in this vegetarian restaurant. However, we felt that it will taste nicer if the chef add some potatoes into it.
Salted Vampire/ Stir Fried Mock Salted Fish with Ginger/ 姜丝炒咸鱼 (Rm 9.90 for ala-carte; Rm 15.90 for set)
This is rather salty but a bowl of rice will neutralize the saltiness. I like this dish cause it actually reminds me of the stir fried chicken with ginger that my mom used to cook for me quite often last time. She claimed that the usage of julienned ginger helps to release trapped wind in my stomach.
Set comes with :
1) A choice of rice/ noodles2) A choice of their TRADITIONAL drinks
3) TWO side dishes of the day
4) Dessert of the day
Night Blooming Cereus Herbal Soup/ 霸王花炖汤 (Rm 12.90 for ala-carte; Rm 18.90 for set)
I love drinking herbal soup! Some is sweet while there is some bitter taste herbal sweet. The combination of herbs they used make the nutritious, sweet and tasty. I encourage you to drink more herbal soup especially during cold session as each of the herbs has its own goodness and its own function in promoting good health. It can promote good health and prevention sickness! :D
Mints Egg Soup/ 薄荷蛋花汤 (Rm 9.90 for ala-carte; Rm 15.90 for set)
Another refreshing healthy soup. We found that one of the ingredients taste like sausage and it is very chewy!
Deep Fried Mushroom/ 炸香菇 (Rm 9.90)
My Favourite dish ♥! The deep fried shitake mushroom is very crispy. A slight of sweet and sour sauce added on the mushroom makes the mushroom taste really yummy! Oh, I crave for this now :(. Imma a huge fans of mushroom!
Minced Meat Rice/ 素肉酱饭 (Rm 7.90 for ala-carte; Rm 12.90 for set)
It comes along with mock minced meat, carrot, cucumber, bok-choy and hard boil egg. It taste just like the typical Taiwanese Minced Meat Rice to me.
Xiang Chun Mee/ 香椿面 (Rm 7.90 for ala-carte; Rm 12.90 for set)
The chef handmade the noodles. The texture of the noodles is less QQ when we tasted it. However, we were told that we were supposed to eat it when it's hot so that the noodles is more QQ. *we took too much time taking photos :O*
Olive Tea (Rm 3.90), Mango Lassi (Rm 9.90), CC Lemonade (Rm 9.90), Carrot Julius (Rm 9.90)
The Olive Tea is unique as it tasted like the combination of olive and sour plum. I personally prefer the Mango Lassi as it is very rich! Another special drink with the combination of cucumber and lemonade for the CC Lemonade. Carrot Julius taste like common rich carrot juice to me.
