hmm, can't reverse back the template? i think there is somewhere the reverse button on the design tabs... anyways,have a view of my blog when free.. http://www.lonelyreload.blogspot.com .. do leave me some comment / guide if can.. if interested can follow my blog...

backup ur current template
design-edit html-download template.
save it on your pc...
step 2
search for new template..downloaad it
step 3..
upload it as ur new template..
save and preview...

Choose a template that you like from blogger template. Choose those template with sidebars and everything on the side. You said you don't want the chatbox to be on the bottom right.
Then, you can modify the html codes if you want to use different background, header bar, pictures, etc...
why dont u choose another template?
