Ivory CNY Charity Concert 2015

Ivory CNY Charity Concert will be held on the 4th day of CNY, Feb 22. The concert will start at 8pm at Penang Times Square.

This concert is organized by Ivory Properties Group Berhad. It is supported by Penang Press Club and Persatuan Wartawan dan Jurugambar Media Cina Pulau Pinang and The Star as the media partner.

Ivory Properties Group Berhad managed to collect RM20,000 during their funds raising to rebuild homes for the east coast flood victims, which their initial target was RM15,000 according to the executive director and Ivorycares president Datuk Ooi Chin Loo. With the help of the concert, they hope to increase their target to RM25,000.

Performers for the Ivory CNY Charity Concert include Worldwide Platinum Records' North American chart toppers Ovaload and Cash Band. Former 988 FM radio station DJ Luke Loke will be performing selected tracks from his newly released Chinese New Year album 'Feat-ting Room'. Worldwide Platinum Records artistes Mickey, Satrina, Michelle and Max Ku who are featured in the 'Feat-ting Room' album will join the performance of DJ Luke Loke!

Jeffrey Ooi, the first runner-up for Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2008 will be emceeing the concert with the master of ceremony Corrylincoln from Penang Times Square. Satrina can't wait to perform her new song 'Ketakutan' on that day too.

Besides, Kenya's Sarakasi dancers-cum-acrobats are invited to perform the mind-blowing elaborate tribal and modern dances as well as gymnastic show. Men On Heels and GoGoGirls will dance to pop tunes and funky beats during the show.

Ticket redemption :

Public can redeem 2 tickets by cutting out the Ivory CNY Charity Concert advertisement each on The Star, Kwong Wah Yit Poh, Nanyang Siang Pau and bring the event banner advertisement to any of the 3 newspapers' office for redemption. Tao Authentic Asian Cuisine & Lounge Japanese Buffet @ Autocity Juru, Penang

Are you drooling now? Does this photo tempt you? This is definitely a heaven especially for Japanese Food lover! Even I am missing this badly right now looking at this photo to get inspiration to blog!

Whenever we mention Japanese buffet in Penang, we will definitely think of Tao Cuisine. One is in Penang Times Square and another one is at Autocity Juru, Penang. They have another branch in Kota Damansara Sunway Giza too! It specialized in 70% Japanese and Korean, Chinese, Thai, Taiwan cuisine.

I like their concept of All-You-Can-Eat Ala Carte Buffet. Most of the time, we are afraid if the food already finish or the food no longer hot or fresh anymore when we arrived the venue late. Ala Carte Buffet surely save you from those troubles! All you need to do is just sit at your place, pick and order it from the staff. The chef will then cook it and send it to you.

Last week, I visited Tao Cuisine at Autocity Juru, Penang. It is located above Nandos, beside Starbucks. There are 2 ways to reach Tao which are the staircase beside Nandos and Ice-ice Baby.

Self-service buffet

Besides Ala Carte, you can grab some ready food at the self-service section too! :D

Shishamo on the left and Chawanmushi on the right.

Shishamo is grilled pregnant fish with salt and pepper while Chawanmushi is steamed egg with shark fin. They both taste good! It was a cold rainy day, the chef insisted to serve us Chawanmushi to keep us warm, very thoughtful chef!

Deep Fried Mantis Prawn (bottom), Ko Ebi Karaage(top)

Ko Ebi Karaage consists of deep fried baby shrimp. 

Gyoza

Gyoza is panfried minced chicken dumpling. They are served with a dipping sauce. They taste so well with the dipping sauce! 

Okonomiyaki

Japanese Pizza with seafood and assorted vegetables.

Deep Fried Mantis Prawn, Ko Ebi Karaage, Gyoza and Okonomiyaki are Zensai, which is appetizer in Japanese.

Crabmeat Cream Cheese

Deep fried flour skin wrapper with stuffed crabmeat and cream cheese.

This is one of my favorite! I like how the crabmeat with cream cheese melt in my mouth with the combination of the crispy flour skin wrapper!

Soft Shell Crab Karaage

It consists of deep fried soft shell crab with assorted vegetables.

Soft shell crab is one of the must-not-miss-out list when you dine in Japanese Restaurant. It taste good with the chili powder! I like the crispiness and sweetness of the crab!

Wakatori Karaage

Crispy deep fried marinated chicken with fried egg.

The chicken is very juicy and the egg with Mayonnaise melted in my mouth is so yummy! 

Crabmeat Cream Cheese, Soft Shell Crab Karaage and Wakatori Karaage are under Age Mono, which means deep fried food in the menu.

Sake Hamaguri

Clam, or we usually call it "lala" is my all-time-favourite since I was young. Sake Hamaguri is the stir fried clam with Japanese Wine. I think the Japanese Wine plays an important role to remove the seafood raw smell which makes the clams taste sweet. How can we not love those big clams anyway?

Sake Hamaguri is under stir fried dishes, Itame Mono.

Motoyaki Scallop

Baked scallop with spicy mayo.

I am not a fans of scallop but this impressed me as it comes along with the spicy mayo!

Misoyaki

Grilled butter fish with miso sauce.

The fish is really fresh and sweet!

Motoyaki Scallop and Misoyaki are under Yakimono, pan-fried dishes.

Beef Bacon

Hotplate beef bacon with cream cheese and spring onion.

I really love these beef bacon! Again, the cream cheese wrapped with beef bacon and spring onion melted very well in my mouth. Cheese and beef lover will definitely love this!

It is under Teppanyaki.

Finally, its Maki, Nigiri or Sashimi's turn!

Green Dragon Roll

Deep fried prawn, cucumber, kani, avocado, mango.

Sashimi Moriawase!

How can you not scream when you see this? My eyes went bling* when the chef serve the boat! of Salmon, Tuna, Tako, Hokkigai and many more... oh yummy...

Daphne and I were there an hour earlier, therefore we get to avoid the crowd and window shop at the store. The staffs there were friendly and introduced us some of their lingerie collection. I got attracted by the parfage collection, they look so pretty and comfy!

This claw vending machine for the guests to win some prizes. Gosh, i like this this mini claw vending machine cause is way too cute! I manage to get a very pretty lingerie bag with this. :D

The photographer was so nice that offer us some Polaroids shots of Daphne and I.

Most importantly, we were given a chance to meet Miss World Malaysia 2013, Ms Melinder Kaur Bhullar and an exclusive first glimpse of the 20 finalists of Miss World Malaysia 2014. They all look so gorgeous! We got to interact with the Miss World Malaysia and there was a Q&A sessions where guests can win some prizes when they manage to answer the questions correctly.

JS Fashion Square @ Prangin Mall Penang

"Be yourself, nobody can be better"

Who doesn't love buying or getting new clothes? Which girl doesn't like shopping? Many thanks to JS Fashion Square, I was given an opportunity to do a fashion review at their Prangin Mall outlet during my self-declared Raya break in Penang. The outlet is located at the 4th floor of Prangin Mall, which was once a popular bookstore.

As you can see, the outlet is huge. Guess what? Jefferson sponsors men apparel for local TV channels such as RTM, TV3, 8TV & TV9, and providing consignment for men accessories such as tie, belt, etc whilst on the other end, they have JS Fashion Square for the ladies. The price of the clothes there are reasonable and affordable too!

I have tried out a few different sets of outfits. I purposely chose some clothes that beyond my not-so-girly style. More ladylike and girly this time specially for this review. Pretty Nicole was my partner that day. She helped me to pick some of the apparels and taught me in posing, not forgetting that being my personal photographer that day.  

1st : Casual

I tried on a floral sleeveless top and a black pencil skirt here. I kind of start to like this style. It is very comfy and girly which definitively suitable to hang out, have a date at a cafe with my friends or family. 

2nd : Smart Casual

I wore a studded white peplum top and a floral shorts, styled by Nicole. Matched it with a pair of red strips high heels which makes me looks more feminine and smart for events.

3rd : Formal

"When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place."

A little black dress that makes me look so ladylike especially with a pair of high heels. Looks pretty simple yet classy and elegant.

*slurps* look at the pineapple fillings, it looks way too attractive. 

The chewy golden pineapple feelings in the pineapple cake is juicy yet not overly sweet. They are made of 100% fresh pineapples pick directly from their plantation in Penang. As for the milky and buttery golden pastries which are made with natural ingredients and pure butter, taste fluffy yet not oily at all. The pineapple cakes taste just perfect to my liking.
